|As part of the Startup Support Program, The Entrepreneurships and Business Support Department at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) in Cooperation with ENTREPRENEURME have the pleasure to invite you to the Entrepreneurship in Bio-medical Engineering conference taking place on the 17th to the 19th of August.
The conference will take place at Masr University for Science and Technology (MUST) in 6th of October city. The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center will be organizing a panel discussion titled Bio-Inspired ICT Entrepreneurship: Opportunities and Obstacles on the 18th August – second day of the conference – from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. The panel will discuss the latest trends in ICT and biomedical engineering and the opportunities and obstacles for entrepreneurs.

TIEC Panel Discussion:
Rasha is the Entrepreneurship & Business Support Department Head at the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (MCIT) managing the Accelerator program amongst other business support programs offered to startups, SMEs and entrepreneurs in ICT. Rasha has extensive teaching experience at Nile University’s Management of Technology department, Pharos University and University of Senghore. Rasha was also a researcher at the Center of Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Nile University where her fields of interest include open innovation, strategic management, & entrepreneurship. She worked at HartMann Egypt as a regional manager in the construction field before cofounding her own business in the packaging of agriculture exports where she sits on its board of advisors. Rasha worked in EU projects in the FP7 frame work including MEDspring, euromed@change with ANIMA and currently is part of MOSAIC. Rasha was part of the team that compiled the ICT2020 strategy for the ICT cluster for the Egyptian government. Rasha enjoys mentoring and guiding young entrepreneurs with special focus on empowering women entrepreneurs and is an active member of the Women Business Forum; an OECD initiative.
Dr. Mohammed Fatehy Abdelshafy
Dr. Mohamed Fatehy is assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine. He received his Master (M.Sc.) in Anesthesia, critical care and pain management and studying M.D. He also is the co-founder and general manager of Pulse company and serves as medical consultant.
Dr. Seif Eldawlatly is currently an Assistant Professor at the Computer and Systems Engineering Dept., Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. He received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Michigan State University in 2011. He received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Computer & Systems Engineering Department) from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2006 and 2003, respectively. Dr. Eldawlatly’s research focuses on utilizing machine learning and signal processing techniques to develop invasive and non-invasive Brain-Machine Interface (BMI) applications. Dr. Eldawlatly is currently the principal investigator of two funded research projects. The first project aims at developing a visual prosthetic system that provides visual sensation to the blind by electrically stimulating deep brain areas responsible for visual encoding. This project is funded by the Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF). The second project aims at developing Android applications that enable subjects with motor disability to interact with Android-based devices using their brain electroencephalography (EEG) activity. This project is funded by Google. He has about 30 refereed publications in this area.
